harsh: 厳しい、過酷な

用例: You’re being too harsh on me.
訳: 君は僕に対してつらく当たりすぎるよ。

tap into: ～を活用[利用]する、～に入り込む

用例: The candidate tapped into some wealthy supporters.
訳: 候補者は数人の富裕な支持者と近づきになった.

ongoing conversation: 進行中の会話

ongoingはビジネスで良く使う表現です。

ongoing negotiations (進行中の交渉)、ongoing debate(進行中の議論)のように使います。
また、be + ongoingの形で使うこともできます。それぞれの用例を挙げます。

用例: The Israeli prime minister strongly opposes the ongoing negotiations between six major powers and Iran on that country’s nuclear program.
訳: イスラエル首相は、6つの大国とイランの間で進行中の、イラン核開発問題についての交渉に強く反対している。

用例: There is an ongoing debate on the issue.
訳: 進行中の議論がある。

用例: That research is ongoing.
訳: その調査は進行中です。

Point taken: なるほどそうですね。そのとおりです。

用例: Point taken. You’re right!
訳: わかった. 君の言う通りだ。

用例: Your point is well taken.
訳: 君の議論は正しい。

fixated: 執着する

用例: He became fixated on the idea of a Third World War
訳: 彼は第三次世界大戦という考えに執着している。

I understand where they are coming from: 彼らの考え方は理解できます。

用例: I could see where they were coming from when they started quoting the Bible at me.
訳: 彼らが聖書を私に向かって暗唱し始めたときに、彼らの考え方が理解できた。

up to a point: ある程度まで(は)

用例: His guess was right up to a point.
訳: 彼の推測はある程度まで当たっている.

work against: ～に逆に働く、～に不利に作用する

用例: The fall of the yen worked against us.
訳: 円の下落は我々に不利に働いた。

「～に有利に作用する」という時は、work in favor ofという表現を使います。

growth potential: 成長の可能性

用例: the company’s long‐term growth potential
訳: その会社の長期的な成長能力

growth + 名詞という英語表現は、ビジネスで良く使います。
economic growth:経済成長

名詞 + growthで英語表現を作ることもできます。
growth rate:(経済)成長率
