※口語的な表現です。
in the long run
意味: 長い目で見れば, 結局は
用例: The more expensive goods will be less expensive in the long run.
訳: 高い商品ほど長い目で見れば安くつく。
at length
意味: (長い間かかって)ついに, ようやく
用例: At length Kato and Shimura arrived.
訳: 長い間かかって、加藤と志村が到着した。
※文頭でのみ使われます
※否定文ではat lengthは使えません。
at the last moment
意味: ちょうど間に合って; ぎりぎりになって, どたん場で
用例: Scarlett Johansson was to go with me, but she backed out at the last moment.
訳: スカーレット・ヨハンソンは僕と一緒に行くことになっていたが、ぎりぎりになって断った。
when all is said and done
意味: 結局, やっぱり, 何と言っても
用例: When all is said and done, it’s a relief to get home.

※通常、文頭、または、文中で使います。
